The Young Artist Program welcomes advanced high school students, conservatory and college students, and emerging young professionals. Experience intensive training and performance opportunities at the highest level.
Program Highlights
- All events (lessons, rehearsals, master classes, lectures and recitals) are held at the Bartók Béla Music Institute, in the heart of Bartók Square
- Master classes are held at the beautiful rococo style Bartók Hall
- Students have access to ample practice rooms at the Bartók Institute
- Experience exceptional and intense learning opportunities
- Enjoy 3 one-hour long individual lessons with renowned Artist Faculty
- Four-Hand or Two-Piano Collaboration: CHROMA will assist and arrange four-hand and/or two-piano collaborations among participants
- Participation in a minimum of 2 master classes
- Access to all Master Classes, Workshops, Lectures and Festival Concerts
- All concerts are performed at historical performance venues
- Explore and immerse yourself in the centuries old history, culture and people of Miskolc, Hungary.
Eligibility
- The YAP is designed for advanced high school and collegiate students. Participants aged 18 and up are eligible and encouraged to apply.
- Those over the age of 25 may apply to participate in the Adult Piano Intensive
- Participants under the age of 18 are strongly encouraged to apply, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Additional room and board coverage must be paid by the parent or guardian of the child.
Application and Tuition
- Application deadline: May 15, 2026
- Application fee: $100 USD
- Late application fee: $140 USD (for applications submitted after May 15, 2026)
- Tuition: Double Occupancy: $3,095 USD (includes hotel room and all meals); Single Occupancy: $3,395 USD (includes hotel room and all meals)
- For accepted students, the application fee will be applied toward tuition. Application fees are non-refundable for applicants who are not accepted.
Recording Requirements
Applicants must submit unedited video recordings of TWO contrasting pieces, representing two of the following time periods: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th and 21st Century.
