Can I choose which faculty member I study with?
Yes! Once you are accepted, you will be able to list your preferred faculty members, and we will do our best to honor these preferences.
Are meals and lodging included in the tuition?
All participants will stay at a hotel in the heart of Miskolc, Hungary, a convenient walk to all activities. Breakfasts at the hotel are included in the tuition. Lunches and dinners are not included in the tuition. There are a great variety of restaurants within walking distance of the festival with reasonable pricing for lunches and dinners.
How are participants chosen to attend the festival?
Participants are selected by a committee of faculty members based on their recordings and application materials.
When will I find out if I am accepted to the Festival?
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all slots are filled. Normally, applicants will be notified within two to three weeks after submitting all application materials.
Do I have access to the practice rooms?
Yes! Each student will be assigned to a practice room at a specific time. All practice rooms and studios are located at the Bartók Institute.
Will my application fee be refunded if I am not accepted?
For accepted students, the application fee will be applied toward tuition. However, if you are not accepted, the application fee is non-refundable.
